Nemusalide is used to provide relief from pain and fever. It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat pain and dysmenorrhea (painful periods or menstrual cramps) and treat dental pain, which can occur due to damage to the tooth nerve, infection, decay, extraction, or injury. The medicine works by blocking the effect of a chemical known as prostaglandin responsible for inducing pain and inflammation in the body. Nemusalide tablet is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age as safety is not established. 

Take the Nemusalide as per the dosage ad duration prescribed by your physician. Do not crush, chew or break the tablets. Swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water. Some people may observe a few side effects such as nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach pain, loss of appetite, and diarrhea.  Inform your doctor if you are allergic to Nemusalide or similar medicines.

 Drug Interaction 

Some drugs may interact with each other and cause adverse side effects.  The drugs also tend to react with certain food items and health conditions.  Do not take Nemusalide tablets with the following mentioned drugs:

  • respiratory medicines (theophylline)
  • blood thinners (warfarin)
  • antidiabetics (insulin)
  • anti-epileptics (phenytoin)
  • anti-cancer agents (methotrexate)
  • immune system affecting medicines (cyclosporine)
  • antacids
  • anti-HIV (didanosine)

Precautions and Warnings 

1. Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart disease or stroke.

2. Avoid consuming alcohol while taking Nimesulide as it can increase your risk of stomach problems.

3. Do not take Nimesulide tablets without a doctor's consultation if you are pregnant or lactating. 

4. Nimesulide is not recommended in children below 12 years of age. It may cause kidney problems in children and adolescents who are dehydrated.

5. Nimesulide is not suitable to be used by people with liver disorders as it can cause hepatotoxicity (liver damage).

1. Can I take Nimesulide Tablet with paracetamol?
Nimesulide and paracetamol belong to the same class of medicines known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs; pain-relieving drugs). Taking the two medicines together is not advisable as it may increase the potential for gastric ulceration and bleeding. However, please consult your doctor before using the two medicines together.

2. Does Nimesulide contain aspirin?
Nimesulide is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAIDs; pain-relieving drug). It does not contain aspirin.
